Skimlinks Gets Around
Here at Skimlinks we try and make the most of opportunities to get out and about and meet our affiliate comrades, and we’ve been invited along to a few great events lately that deserve a mention.
And – we’ve got to have somewhere to put all the photos, don’t we!
Earlier this month, Joe, Mark and I attended the absolutely fabulous Affiliate Window Elaborate Execution at Banqueting House in Whitehall. The venue was simply breathtaking, the company was wonderful and the food exquisite. We all thought the comedian was hilarious; but I think that’s mainly because we have a very twisted sense of humour at Skimlinks!
Mark was pickpocketed (with his permission), and we all got a little too intimate with the amazing vodka-dispensing ice sculpture; that is, except for swine flu scaredy cat Joe.
You can see the round-up video of the event here. Watch out for Mark!
This week, I was lucky enough to be invited along to the O2 with 7thingsmedia to see comedian Michael McIntyre as he kicked off his run at the venue. Debbie from 7thingsmedia played host for the evening, as we enjoyed our VIP box seats high above the crowd. It was a great, fun show, with Michael playing up to situations we can all relate to! It was also definitely the biggest comedy venue I’ve ever been to!
And if that wasn’t enough; last night, Mark and I attended Affiliate Window’s first ever affiliate bowling competition! The competition was held at the All Star Lanes in Brick Lane, where we battled it out across three private lanes.
The AWin partnerships team were our hosts, as Mark and I were split into the first two opposing teams. My team, the best team, as it were, Maya, Geoff, Andy, Michael, Edwyn and me won our first game, and eventually won the final with an unprecendented amount of strikes. Our prize? A reunion pizza date in a few weeks time!
A great night was had by all, but, you know, the best team won, so obviously we had a better time than everybody else. Of course, being humble about our achievement was the key to our success.
Thanks again to AWin, brilliant night, my quads are killing me, but I am feeling very pleased with myself.
