Amidst commuter chaos, our CEO Alicia will today present herself to the judging panel for the National Business Awards Entrepreneur of the Year.
Just a smidge over 30, Alicia has already shown off her impressive entrepreneurial spirit with Skimbit and Skimlinks, and she joins the ranks of the other brilliant South of England finalists including Marc Boyan, Hunter Abbott, Karen Paterson and Margaret Manning.
Our CEO Alicia will be out and about contributing to the online community tomorrow as she joins a panel for Being Digital ’09.
Alicia will feature on the panel discussing ‘Evolving Web Service Platforms’ from 4pm-4.45pm alongside Microsoft Head of Search, Mike Nichols, with speakers Duncan Malcolm of Everycity and Mike Bracken from Guardian.
Skimlinks has just been selected as a double-finalist for the LinkShare Golden Link Awards 2009.
We’re up for Best New Publisher and the LinkShare Golden Link Technology Genius Award, and the winners will be announced at a luncheon (hosted by Joan Rivers!) in New York City at the LinkShare Symposium East.
Our night at the A4U Awards was a little slow to get started, as Ciaran, Mark, Alicia and I prepared our black-tie brilliance in the office bathrooms, with some (Alicia!) having to be dragged away from their computer keyboards.
We arrived at The London Hilton in Park Lane and headed up to the ‘drinks reception area’ to ‘mingle’ and got started on the champagne.

Never before has one company won three awards in one night at the A4U Awards, and Skimlinks caused quite a stir by doing so!
